We designed Boxi for the mobile user, whether for work, education, or
entertainment," said Matt Takekoshi, Elmo USA's president. "Boxi provides an
ideal combination of small size, big picture, bright image and wireless
convenience. The Boxi MP-350 offers three display modes, which are presentation,
cinema/game, and photo mode to tailor the WXGA image to the content being
shown.Unique to the Boxi among mobile LED projectors is Elmo’s free downloadable
app that
enables direct playback from mobile devices. Up to four users at once can
project their images on the screen with Boxi play.
The projector's short-throw lens can display a 50-inch image from 3.3 feet
away. What's more, built-in traditional Wi-Fi connectivity,as
well as a USB port for connecting to thumb drives or external hard drives are
available.Audio is delivered through a built-in 1-watt speaker, allowing it to
be used for not only as a portable business presentation tool but also for
entertainment uses, including movies or gaming while at home or when
traveling.
MIT updated the historic dome using integrated Gotham® LED downlighting with
embedded controls to provide consistent light levels for reading in the library,
while complementing daylighting from the Dome’s skylight. The daylighting and
electric lighting work together seamlessly to provide round-the-clock
illumination during the library’s 24-hour operation. The skylight of the historic
Great Dome was covered with blackout shades. In 2012, MIT uncovered the 25-foot
skylight and was confronted with the challenge of how to integrate modern
lighting into the classical-style architecture, while successfully illuminating
a student study area featuring a 70-foot ceiling.
