it will be possible to use separate LED colors with high accuracy

This will enable us to stably produce and offer a white LED that has the least variation in chromaticity while keeping the production cost low by discontinuing the “sorting” process before shipment. We believe that at the destination sites it will be possible to use separate LED colors with high accuracy and that will help to produce quality lighting equipment. Citizen Electronics Co., Ltd will start color control using “3-Step MacAdam ellipses” at the mass production level, taking the initiative in the lighting industry.

Nowadays the use of white LEDs in general lighting is rapidly progressing. There is always a possibility that a great deal of interest will be focused on the LED’s energy-saving performance based on its high luminous efficacy. However, we consider that it is very important to offer quality products stably with no variation in color as well as improving the luminous efficacy.YAHAM Optoelectrionics Co., Ltd will continue to utilize the “CITIZEN” tradition of “Precision Engineering Technology”, and advance the development of high-quality LED products as light sources for general lighting.

Cree customers now have access to our industry-proven TrueWhite technology, allowing them to quickly deliver better products to the market, faster,” said Chuck Swoboda, Cree chairman and chief executive officer. “Cree TrueWhite technology is already installed in thousands of locations including restaurants, retail stores, and others that demand both high-quality light and energy-efficiency.”

first commercial LED products can be realized already today

The collaboration with one of the leading light designers worldwide and a forerunner in the usage of the OLED technology is both a great joy and a privilege for Novaled”
Ingo Maurer will present the pendant lamp “Flying Future” as well as the table lamp “4 x 4 is 34” at the Light + Building Frankfurt, both of which are equipped with Novaled OLEDs. Specific for these OLEDs made on glass substrates is the transparent nature in the off-state. With this feature the organic LEDs open up unimagined freedom of design, which cannot be realized with any other light source.

"The collaboration with one of the leading light designers worldwide and a forerunner in the usage of the OLED technology is both a great joy and a privilege for Novaled”, says Gerd Günther, CMO of Novaled AG. “These Ingo Maurer lamps are illustrating very well that first commercial LED products can be realized already today.”

The mobility of the four light elements enables the user to influence the actual shape of the lamp. Flying Future is the realization of a long-cherished wish of mine”, admits Ingo Maurer. “Lightness and light, the almost amorphous shape of a kerchief floating in the air and now in addition the transparency of the OLEDs. The freedom of design, the novel stylistic elements made possible by OLEDs are a fantastic and exciting gift for us designers”, states Ingo Maurer. ”The cooperation with Novaled was very inspiring and exciting. When visiting Novaled in Dresden, one feels the power and spirit of this company."

which can easily be used by different researchers from several research groups

the interdisciplinary research and services institution for material sciences and technology development, will employ the new system to produce several different nano-carbon materials. “These applications require a system with great flexibility, which can easily be used by different researchers from several research groups,” adds Dr. Egger. “These are needed for very different topics such as miniaturized X-ray sources which demand MWCNT field emitters. It will also be used to create single- and double-walled CNTs and graphene for sensors and other devices as well as composite materials incorporating carbon nanotubes and fibers.”

When the Spokane Public Facilities District (SPFD) began to look for lighting alternatives for a new parking lot facility in the downtown core, solar LED lighting was top of mind. The central location of the parking lot in combination with its proximity to the INB Performing Arts Center, a major new facility in town, gave the SPFD the perfect opportunity to showcase its continued movement towards renewable energy alternatives.

The SPFD, which operates the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena, Spokane Convention Center and INB Performing Arts Center, has adopted a Sustainability Policy for all of its venues. The policy mandates that all of the District’s venues be operated in an environmentally friendly manner and that the facilities take every available opportunity to reduce waste by conserving essential resources, recycling and using recycled materials, and utilizing renewable energy sources whenever possible.

Thanks to reliable LED technology

TMG has been manufactured at SAFC Hitech's Bromborough facility for a number of years, primarily for supply to the global semiconductor industry. However, as TMG also fulfills the technical criteria for devices designed for the LED, laser, communication and other markets, the boom in demand for LEDs has led to the conclusion that expanding the plant - with its expertise and specific manufacturing knowledge for this process - was the ideal business solution to meet customer demand. This investment is expected to accelerate the delivery of TMG to a growing market position and reinforce our position as a leading global manufacturer and distributor for the growing LED market worldwide, as well as create jobs in the area, which is positive news given the current economic climate."

The designated QOD kit includes three downlights with a slim junction box, which also contains the main switch. The only requirement to operate it is a socket for the 12V DC mains connection power supply, which the kit also includes. OSRAM also provides a QOD add-on accessory with another lamp in 70x70mm format. A maximum of five QODs can be connected to a distributor using a heavy-duty plug.

QOD is suitable for lighting cabinets, shelves or wardrobes. But QODs can also be used as downlights in other narrow areas, where there is insufficient space for conventional lamps. Thanks to reliable LED technology, replacing lamps is no longer necessary. From now on, OSRAM offers users a flexible, long-lasting lighting solution, which is compelling due to its outstanding functionality, contemporary design and performance – the warm white light of the 3.5W lamps is low-glare, emitted at a 45° angle and achieves around 170lm.
