the government procurement catalog as one part of National Torch Plan

Previously, all the lighting products of SPARK has passed the tests and authentications of the municipal, provincial and national authorities and obtained various international certificates, such as CCC, CQC, UL, PSE, SABS, ETL, PSE and so on. Those products have been taken into the government procurement catalog as one part of National Torch Plan and a national typical LED lighting project by the municipal, provincial and national Finance Department, Propaganda Department and Education Department. As we know, VDE authentication is the symbol of safety and quality, applied in the led flood light  The lighting products of SPARK have been sold in more then 150 countries, which means the lighting products of SPARK have gained the recognition of top-rank safety mechanisms worldwide, already reaching at international advanced level.

VDE(Verband Detacher Elektrotechnikere),that is, Prufstelle Testing and Certification Institute, is know for its rigor in the global market. VDE is publicly recognized in the area of International Electro technical Commission (IEC) and the reliability of products with VDE mark are accepted by the vast consumers. Therefore, VDE mark is a special passport for products sold in Europe especially the developed countries of Western Europe (particularly for the LED products).Administrative Law Judge Theodore R. Essex made an initial decision in favor of Litepanels. He ruled to prevent abuse of Litepanels patents it was necessary to ban other companies from using LED lights in equipment designed for photo, video or film production use. He recommended a general exclusion order against the other companies.

The tube lights of SPARK passed the VDE authentication this time include T8-0.6、T8-0.9、T8-1.2、T8-1.5. The LED tube light of SPARK is a new type environment-friendly products, is able to work in a environment of low voltage and low temperature, safe and reliable, whose light resource has high ratio of illumination and high color rendering index(CRI). Comparing to the traditional tube light, even with a same size, the led high bay light can save more energy, be more environment-friendly and have longer lifespan. The normal lifespan of LED tube light can be more than 50 thousand hours. LED tube light, with high temperature and cold weather resistance, can be widely applied for lighting of housing, office, commerce, school, hospital, factory and etc, the CRI of which can be divided into warm white, pure white and cool white.

The industry leader in accelerating the LED lighting revolution

Having spent much of my career forging relationships and developing business opportunities in technology companies, I am thrilled to be joining Digital Lumens, whose intelligent LED lighting solutions are truly changing the game,” says Healy. “I look forward to collaborating with my new team to accomplish an even greater level of success in the months and years to come.Prior to his role at GE, Healy was the director of strategic marketing at Ferro Corporation, and ATMI, where he was responsible for strategic marketing and business development activities. Healy earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from MIT, his PhD in the same field from Harvard University, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. We know that integrated intelligence creates a platform for radical energy efficiency and innovative functionality.,” said Tom Pincince, President and CEO of Digital Lumens. “But, the lack of open standards and a dynamic interoperable ecosystem has so far hampered massive adoption across the entire landscape. Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge, incredible industry experience, and razor-sharp go-to-market skills that will help us work with other players in the market to change this.”
The industry leader in accelerating the LED lighting revolution, the Digital Lumens model combines LED lighting technology with energy management and service capabilities, to offer its customers significant savings of 90 percent annually. The company’s system has proven successful in over 500 installations across the commercial and industrial lighting sector.Staged alternately annually on the West Coast and the East Coast, LFI returns to Las Vegas in 2014 where it set new all-time attendance and trade show records during its five-day run in 2012. In independent studies conducted by the research firm Moore & Symons, attendee and exhibitor ratings of overall value and satisfaction reached an all-time high.capable of producing a wide spectrum light while operating for long periods of time at atmospheric conditions. This device is based on a new concept of light emission from an ultra-thin amorphous dielectric layer.

According to an article published in Applied Physics Letters, the light emission mechanism, characteristics of the emission spectrum, fabrication method, and the operation parameter effects on this type of LED. The device was fabricated with the room-temperature sputter deposition method on a silicon wafer. The light emission intensity could be enhanced with a nanocrystal layer embedded in the dielectric film. Most importantly, the complete process and materials are compatible with the existing IC fabrication facility. There is a need for a new type of LED that is: low cost, long operation life, small in size, emits white light, and easy to fabricate with environmentally friendly materials and process.” Dr. Kuo says. “ What makes this new LED unique is it meets all of these requirements plus it is extremely easy to fabricate with the existing equipment in all semiconductor fabs.”

the judges for good lighting distribution

The UK will have become a net importer of energy by 2015, the imperative to reduce consumption and take the burden off our straining power sector is clear. Turning lights off at night is a very easy place to start. There doesn’t seem to be any movement from our government towards regulating this, but as businesses stand to make considerable energy and cost savings by taking control of their lights, perhaps the impetus should come from there. In addition to superior crystal quality, the native substrate’s optical transparency and high electrical and thermal conductivity enable a very robust, simple LED design that delivers maximum performance. Another advantage of the led flood light approach is that it enables considerable flexibility in the choice of crystal growth plane.

After GE's first Evolve LED Medium Cobrahead (ERMC) won Best-in-Class in the 2009 NGL competition, GE asked its top engineers to make it even better-and they did. The Evolve LED Scalable Cobrahead fixture, introduced in 2012, offers increased light output and more pavement distribution patterns to suit a wider range of roadway classifications, while using up to 25 percent fewer watts than traditional Cobrahead fixtures.Judges applauded the light distribution, color quality, and light output of the Evolve LED Scalable Cobrahead ER2S fixture. Comments included: "wide distribution," "good backlight control" and "like control." GE's Evolve LED Scalable Cobrahead ERS4 and ERS4 with reverse module fixtures also were acknowledged by the judges for good lighting distribution, low glare, and high light output.

This year's NGL competition included 120 products representing 42 different manufacturers and covering 10 different outdoor-lighting categories. Of these, only 37 were chosen as "recognized winners," meaning that they were considered worthy of specification.Of the led high bay light recognized products, four-including GE's Evolve LED Scalable Cobrahead fixture-received the additional designation of Best-in-Class. Entries were reviewed for color, appropriate illuminance, light distribution, glare control, appearance, serviceability, value, and energy efficiency. Power quality and lumen maintenance also were evaluated, and flexibility, innovation, and controllability were taken into consideration.

This capability simplifies the design process for bulb manufacturers

The solutions easily match the efficiency of comparative two-stage architectures, but with up to 25 percent fewer components. With broad dimmer compatibility and a compact size, Ikon Semiconductor’s IC offers a better fit for LED bulb retrofits than larger, more complex solutions currently available.Commenting on the new technology, Conor McAuliffe, Ikon Semiconductor’s CEO said, “Today, lighting accounts for nearly 20 percent of the led flood light electricity consumption. Largely driven by global legislation, inefficient legacy bulbs are steadily being replaced by energy-efficient lighting sources. LED lighting is the dominant replacement technology. Retrofit momentum is high, which presents a substantial market opportunity for Ikon Semiconductor. Added to this, our advanced dim-detect engine enables broad dimmer compatibility – an essential feature in a market saturated with disparate dimmer products. Our digital solutions represent a significant breakthrough for the solid-state lighting market.”
A key advantage of the Ikon Semiconductor solution is that it eliminates the need for opto-couplers and electrolytic capacitors – standard components that add complexity to the module and can hinder reliability. This is made possible by the proprietary digital control algorithms in Ikon Semiconductor’s single-stage design. Moreover, the solution allows OEMs to decide the optimum trade-off between the amount of PFC (power factor correction) they need and the amount of ripple the design can tolerate. This capability simplifies the design process for bulb manufacturers, and relieves a further cost burden.

In a sector dominated by companies that produce AC-DC controller ICs for diverse applications in many markets, Ireland-based Ikon Semiconductor stands out for its singular focus on digital controllers for led high bay light applications. Staffed by semiconductor industry veterans, the company’s technology debut is the first event on its roadmap toward producing ICs for the global SSL market. It is this expertise and focus that attracted venture capital investment to the three-year-old company. According to one investor, Orla Rimmington, operations director of Kernel Capital, "The Ikon Semiconductor solution is simpler, smaller and less costly than the competition, while simultaneously helping our environment by reducing the power consumed through replacing old-style lighting."

The real appeal of Marl LED lights for us is the convenience

Marl International Bay Range LED floodlights provide an efficient, flexible light source for interior sports halls and outdoors on sports fields and courts. Energy efficient 772, 773 and 774 series floodlights from the Marl Bay Range have single, double and triple modules for targeted illumination with low light pollution and wastage. In addition to the Wholesale Led high bay light energy savings, they provide clear white light giving a better ambiance particularly indoors, and a long life of at least 50,000 hours.
Marl has recently completed installations of the new floodlights outside at Hoops Basketball Centre, Barrow-in-Furness and indoors in the sports hall at Abbey Gate College in Cheshire. At the Hoops Centre, Marl fitted eight 30W and two 90W floodlights around the outside of the building, replacing twelve 350W SON fixtures. The new fixtures are much more efficient, and better targeted onto the emergency exit routes rather than the surrounding grass. According to Hoops Basketball Centre Manager, Ian France, “The installation gives us an immediate energy saving of over 80%, as well as a reduction in maintenance cost as the new lights need replacing less often. We’re also impressed with the quality of the lights. The security CCTV images are much improved because the LED floodlights are whiter. We are looking at installing an extra light to illuminate the car park.”

Commenting on the installation of LED lights inside the sports hall at one of the North of England’s most prestigious independent schools, Abbey Gate College, Cheshire, Business Manager Andrew Bache said, “The real appeal of Marl LED lights for us is the convenience and improvement in the environment. Though the sodium lights were adequate for football and gymnastics, the hall is also used for examinations and social events. We were able to Agent of floodlight dramatically increase the light level in the hall, ensuring the corners as well as the central area is brightly lit. The LED lights are much whiter and very much more even, since the output of the sodium lamps degrades noticeably as they age.”

which will position both companies for strong growth in our respective LED businesses

a leading developer and manufacturer of LED lighting technologies and solutions, and Toshiba Corporation, a world-leading electronic manufacturer, today announced that they have entered into an agreement under which Bridgelux will sell to Toshiba its industry-leading GaN-on-Silicon technology and related assets, and the companies will strengthen and extend their strategic technology collaboration, through an expanded licensing and manufacturing relationship. In January, 2012, Bridgelux and Toshiba entered into a Joint Development and Collaboration Agreement for the development of GaN-on-Silicon LED technologies. The success of that relationship was demonstrated by Toshiba's announcements of the achievement of world class performance for 8" GaN-on-Silicon LED wafers and mass production of white LEDs. Both of these milestones were achieved using Bridgelux's crystal growth and LED device technologies as well as Toshiba's advanced silicon processes and manufacturing technologies.
The enhanced strategic relationship announced today provides for new business opportunity through the expanded collaboration for next generation LED chips and packages, or platforms, based on the jointly developed GaN-on-Silicon technology, as well as a manufacturing arrangement securing Bridgelux a source of supply for GaN-on-Silicon-based LED chips. Our agreement with Toshiba marks a tremendous milestone in our long history of working closely together, allowing Bridgelux to capitalize on our strong core LED technology platform, providing us with significant new capital for growth, and reducing our capital requirements," said Brad Bullington, Chief Executive Officer of Bridgelux. "This agreement also allows us to focus on what we do best, and what we think the market needs most at this point in time: commercializing, productizing and bringing to market LED-based solid state lighting technologies alongside a proven global scale semiconductor manufacturing partner. We are one step closer to becoming the world's leading solid state lighting technology architecture company."

"We are so excited with this deal that gaining GaN-on-Silicon technology and related assets will contribute to drastically strengthening our LED business, and bring us a high performance and competitive product line-up. We fully expect our new Livermore team to play a leading role within Toshiba in the development and rapid market penetration of GaN-on-Silicon LED chips," said Makoto Hideshima, Executive Vice President of Semiconductor and Storage Products Company, Corporate Vice President of Toshiba. "Entering a new phase of our relationship with Bridgelux, we will be able to accelerate the scaled manufacturing of 8" GaN-on-Silicon LED wafers, which will position both companies for strong growth in our respective LED businesses. The GaN-on-Silicon technology that we acquire will also bring us a breakthrough for Power Devices development and production."

it possible to drastically improve productivity of white LED lighting

Several exhibitors explained. All to prove that their new-generation fixtures - most fired up by a mess of small, energy-efficient LEDs - put out a glow that beats older products using incandescent, halogen or flourescent bulbs. There's also a big push on by LED lightbulb makers to make their new-gen bulbs glow like warm incandescent bulbs.Until recently, we had trouble selling LED fixtures and bulbs because they just weren't bright enough, and people didn't find the illumination flattering," said Michael Kurland,Agent of floodlight of Arch Street Lighting. "Now that's changing."As the cost of raw LED components comes down and quality goes up, product makers can pack extra and more powerful LEDs on a fixture or inside a bulb. One bulb maker, Switch, even offers a rare three-way LED, a 30/60/75-watt equivalent.

And while we winced a couple years ago at the thought of spending $100 for one energy-efficient LED lightbulb, we're now seeing better, brighter, longer-life and dimmable bulbs at as little as $9 for a 40-watt equivalent and about $13 for a 60-watt replacement that offers the same illumination level (800 lumens) but only consumes 7.5 to 13 watts.A $5 LED bulb that likewise lasts for up to 25,000 hours is a "near future goal" for GE, said the company's consumer lighting division manager John Strainic.Just in the nick of time, too. Tightening federal regulations on the maximum allowable energy consumption per lumen of light output on bulbs has already pushed inefficient, 100-watt incandescent lightbulbs off the shelves. Production of 75-watt energy gobblers was banned in the U.S. in January. (Retailers can still sell off inventory.)

By mid-2014, even old-school 40- and 60-watt bulbs (though not pricier, more efficient, new-tech incandescents) "will be hard to find at Wholesale Led high bay light," predicted Stainic. And looming limitations on contaminants may also doom the cold flourescent bulb species which contain mercury. The process allows high-quality GaN single-crystal thin film to be grown on a sapphire substrate and the company plans to start selling these templates.Using this product as a base substrate for an epitaxial wafer for white LEDs the company claims it makes it possible to drastically improve productivity of white LED lighting and the LED properties.

you put one of those close to the plants

Cary Mitchell, a professor of horticulture, said the average tomato is shipped about 1,500 miles from warmer climates where they're grown to cooler climates that cannot produce the fruit cost-effectively in the winter. That journey is costly, however, because tomatoes are picked green and ripen during shipping, decreasing quality and flavor. The lengthy shipping distance also adds to the Wholesale Led high bay light industry's carbon footprint."It makes it really hard for the greenhouse industry to grow tomatoes well in the offseason. We're trying to change that and make it affordable," Mitchell said.Energy costs drive up prices for producers who might want to grow tomatoes in greenhouses in states that have winters inhospitable to growing food. Greenhouses must be heated, and shorter, overcast days require costly lighting.

Mitchell and doctoral student Celina experimented with light-emitting diodes, which are cooler and require far less energy than traditional high-pressure sodium lamps used in greenhouses. They got the same yield — size and number of fruit—with high-pressure sodium lamps and LED towers, but the LEDs used about 25 percent of the energy of traditional lamps. The scientists think the method could have other advantages because the cooler LEDs can be placed much closer and along the sides of plants, lighting not only the top, but also the understory.

The leaves are photosynthesizing on the lower parts of the plants, and that may be helping with the plant's energy," GOmez said. "We're getting the high intensity of the Agent of floodlight close to the plants because they're not hot like a high-pressure sodium lamp. If you put one of those close to the plants, you'd scorch it."

The integrated driver within the canopy housing further simplifies installation

By using a variety of beam angles and warm white color temperature from the Definity lamps, the museum exhibits now capture the attention of viewers as intended and creates areas that truly engage visitors. The essence of the new museum is dramatically different," said Steve Hansen, Director of the Sioux City Public Museum. "The new lighting brings the museum into the modern age and that was our ultimate goal. Our team could not be more pleased with Hilferty's direction of the project and their decision to use LED lamps from Lighting Science.Cree reports a breakthrough innovation in canopy LED lighting with the introduction of the CPY250 canopy and soffit lighting series. According to Cree it Consumes 75 percent less energy than the led flood light systems it’s designed to replace and 5–15 percent less energy with more than 35 percent increased performance compared to competing higher-cost LED luminaires, the new CPY Series delivers exceptional visual environments across a range of canopy applications, including gas stations, bank drive-through ATMs and hotel/airport drop-off centers.

“Canopy operators are under constant pressure to lower operating costs while simultaneously providing safe and visually appealing lighting,” said Greg Merritt, vice president, lighting at Cree. “The new CPY Series, with its slim, low-profile design, is the perfect upgrade solution. The high-performance LED luminaires not only outperform existing LED and MH solutions but also enable the lowest total cost of ownership objectives to be achieved.Available in both flat and prismatic drop lens, the CPY250 provides two illumination aesthetics to meet the visual, as well as the vertical and horizontal illumination, performance needs of a typical canopy application. The CPY250 can seamlessly mount to virtually any canopy deck and is secured in place with self-sealing screws that provide a reliable water-tight seal. The integrated driver within the canopy housing further simplifies installation, reducing installation time and cost. The new canopy series also features Cree’s 10-year limited warranty.

Green-emitting nitride semiconductor Led high bay light structures tend to suffer from low light output due to the difficulty in producing the high-indium-content indium gallium nitride (InGaN) needed for longer-wavelength light emission. Apart from the material quality challenge, strain induced by the lattice mismatch with pure GaN leads to large piezoelectric effects, giving electric fields that tend to pull electrons and holes apart, reducing rates of recombination into photons. The Chinese team tackled the problem by inserting a layer of lower-indium-content InGaN before the high-In-content light-emitting layer. Simulations were carried out first, suggesting that such a layer could reduce the strain-dependent electric fields in the active light-emitting multiple quantum well (MQW) structure.

LED headlamps with supplementary traffic safety functions

On an operational front, GE’s LED Iberia solution is estimated to generate savings amounting to nearly US$10,000 per annum in terms of energy usage and maintenance. From an environmental perspective, the energy savings is equivalent to eliminating approximately 53,850kg of carbon dioxide car emissions per year or saving 89.33 acres of trees. These garage and canopy luminaires with integrated lighting control technology provide over 60-percent reduction in operating costs compared to the traditional Agent of floodlight metal halide fixtures. The PixelView Control occupancy sensing system offers fully integrated individual luminaire management with unparalleled coverage. When wildlife is sensitive to lighting and local ordinances require safe night lighting, the Coastal Light is the preferred solution. The Coastal Light is wildlife-friendly with its amber LED source. The amber option is now available on Lighting Science's most popular luminaires—the Prolific LSR and the Road master RMS roadway lighting. The Coastal Lamp is also available for retrofitting a variety of existing fixtures.
The Forefront Series represents a breakthrough in both performance and design. Engineered to maximize the capabilities of the LED source, these luminaires are available in various sizes and performance optical distributions that enable dramatic energy and maintenance savings over traditional HID technologies. Osram is to develop glare-free adaptive headlights, where modulating multiple LED die within a headlight allows the shape of its beam to be varied in response to data from forward-facing cameras in the vehicle.Low-beams that adapt with vehicle speed are another aspect: at high speed the range of the light is automatically increased, while in city traffic the beam is widened to include more of the pavement and road edges.

"The aim of this project is to develop the technical framework for a new class of energy-efficient LED headlamps with supplementary traffic safety functions," said Osram. "This can provide the basis for adaptive forward lighting systems [AFSs] that offer drivers and passengers increased safety. We have brought together major-league players in their respective sectors, assembling a wealth of expertise for this pioneering project around one table," said project coordinator Stefan Grötsch, also responsible for LED applications in automotive lighting at Osram. One of the biggest single factors contributing to the cost of an LED wafer is the volume of chemicals used in the MOCVD process. The novel chamber and gas injector design in the Wholesale Led high bay light result in highly efficient use of gas and pre-cursor chemicals when compared to MOCVD systems currently in the market. The GaN-500 has been field tested in a customer fab for more than one year. Over the course of hundreds of runs, materials performance, gas consumption, and machine reliability have been extensively monitored and validated. We are extremely excited to report that this testing has confirmed that our product can produce wafer uniformities and growth rates that are comparable with established systems, while at the same time consuming up to 40% less gases and chemicals.

the yaham lab takes place based on a sophisticated process chain

These ceramics leverage their strengths mainly as translucent, in other words semi-transparent, materials for color conversion. Color conversion is the foundation of all white LED light sources, which are actually blue LEDs coated by a luminescent material. This material is usually bound inside silicone, and therefore not nearly as heat resistant as a fluorescent ceramic manufactured at temperatures in excess of 1600°C. In combination with high-intensity LEDs or laser diodes, the outstanding temperature stability and thermal conductivity of these ceramic converters allow for new light sources to be developed. Their luminance is 2 to 3 times higher than that of a typical xenon burner. Areas of application include wholesale nichia 160w led high bay light, next-generation digital projectors and headlights, for example. Its core markets are the household appliance, pharmaceuticals, electronics, optics, solar power, transportation and architecture industries. The company is strongly committed to contributing to its customers’ success and making SCHOTT an important part of people’s lives with its high-quality products and intelligent solutions.
The versatile properties of the ceramics can be custom designed or optimized using a multistep manufacturing process at yaham. This has made it possible to industrially manufacture transparent and translucent ceramics with diameters of between 30 and 50 millimeters. Initial sampling by partners and potential customers is already underway. At first glance, they remind us of glass lenses or color filters. Nevertheless, their manufacturer is convinced that immense new potential lies in these transparent or milky-yellowish platelets made of ceramic. “We have now succeeded in meeting the long-held wishes of the optical industry for a new transparent material for use in photography and other types of imaging devices.

Manufacturing of transparent or translucent ceramics at the yaham lab takes place based on a sophisticated process chain. Depending on the application, highly reactive oxide nanopowders of various compositions are mixed, doped, homogenized in liquid media and then dried again. Afterwards they are pressed into shapes like optical lenses, for instance, and sintered into ceramics inside a special high-temperature furnace at up to 2000°C inside a vacuum or 1800°C in the open air. The sintered parts are then cut and polished for further processing. These leaders will share their insights on the development of the LED market. Integral electronic ballasts offer inaudible operation

Awarded a 2011 Progress Report by the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES), the FCLS luminaire provides the highest-quality illumination available with minimal electrical consumption and wattages as low as 5.5 watts per linear foot. This innovative luminaire provides seamless illumination from end to end with no dark spots or socket shadows. Integral electronic ballasts offer inaudible operation and a power factor of 95 along with standard integral 1% dimming ballasts that are compatible with 2-wire low-voltage dimmers. These luminaires are available in a wide color selection, including 11 different white hues as well as neon and pastel colors, utilizing reliable, ultra long-life, high-output and high color-rendering led flood light cold cathode lamps. The city plans to expand its utilization of LED fixtures in public street lights, deploying higher-volume installations of the technology in three areas: around the new Downtown Market, along Monroe Avenue at Riverside Park, beneath U.S. 131 by Grand Valley State University.
Grand Rapids currently has an estimated 100 LED street lights, and the city will evaluate whether all 18,000 lights in the system should get the fixtures. We are looking at an asset management strategy to consider just that," said Christopher Zull, the city’s traffic safety manager. "We’re likely going to find a spot where that makes good business sense" as LED technology improves and costs come down. We’ve moved from the small-scale 3- and 6-fixture to a more large-scale 40-fixture test. As we’re upgrading street lighting for areas such as around the Downtown Market, we’ve asked for an LED option for that contract.Grand Rapids started installing LED street lights several years ago, but officials were disappointed with early results. With LED illumination having improved, the city now will hire a consultant to inventory street lights and lighting levels to assess the merits of broader LED installations.Zull said citywide LED street light deployment could reduce electricity use by an estimated $425,000.This will not close the gap entirely," he said. “The current business model will not be able to achieve a complete sustainability state."

Grand Rapids officials said they are budgeting $3.9 million for street lighting in the upcoming fiscal year, including about $1.8 million on electricity. The city projects about $1.8 million in direct revenue from street lighting services.Grand Rapids leaders three years ago considered charging a fee for street lighting, but backed off. This has spurred on automobile manufacturers to find possible solutions, culminating in the led high bay light implementation of more sophisticated lighting arrangements into their latest models. The industry took a major step forward in advanced front-lighting systems (AFS) with the arrival of Pixel Light, which dramatically improves driver/passenger/pedestrian safety. Conventional incandescent or high-intensity discharge (HID) lamp-based AFS implementations rely on motor-controlled beam adjustment. Pixel Light, on the other hand, controls multiple LED emitters, providing a far more flexible and operationally efficient approach. However, cost-effective, modular electronics will be required to drive and control AFS systems based in this technology.

LED backlighting rebounded in the first half of 2013

With the addition of the high-power N9, and mid-power P50N series, SemiLEDs has really opened up that area of the industrial market where both very high-output single UV-LED sources, and cost-effective UV-LED arrays, have not previously been available. Given the key advantages that UV-LEDs bring to the market, include increased efficiency and lifetime, reduction of hazardous substances, and the virtual elimination of heat in the beam. This advanced technology is expected to displace the inefficient, short-lifetime incumbents in the near future.Demand for LED backlighting rebounded in the first half of 2013, Taiwan-based led high bay lighting manufacturer believes demand for LED lighting will show strong growth in the second half of 2013 and lighting applications may account for 35-40% of its total revenues.
LED firms said judging from past experience, international tier-one TV makers usually slow down procurement in July-August with only China-based makers continuing to procure products. However, as China's energy-saving appliance procurement subsidies are set to end soon, demand for TV backlighting products in the third quarter may turn weak.Benefitting from rising demand for LED backlight and lighting products, Epistar has seen capacity utilization rate for blue LEDs rise above 90% in the second quarter. Market observers believe Epistar may see second-quarter revenues grow 30-40% sequentially. The observers also noted that demand for backlight applications is still stronger than demand for lighting, and revenues from backlighting products are likely to account for 50% and lighting 25-30% of total second-quarter revenues for Epistar.

It is an indisputable fact that LED market has gradually rebounded, but the relative excess of industry capacity is also an unavoidable reality. In the recent two weeks, the leading LED companies have introduced LED expansion plans, of course, Sanan Optoelectronics is no exception, it launched its plan on the evening of May 27 that it will raise funds about 3.3 billion Yuan to expand LED projects.Taiwan-based high power Led tunnel light manufacturer Edison Opto plans to provide products for TV backlight applications in 2013. According to industry sources, Edison Opto's TV backlighting products passed verification in the second quarter and will begin shipments in July.

The direct view of the light source for quality illumination

The Maine Department of Transportation selected Holophane?LED high mast outdoor lighting fixtures from Acuity Brands, Inc. to retrofit 105 light towers that illuminate Interstate 295. The new HMAO LED high mast solution provides two distinct benefits for the MaineDOT: evenly distributed white light for enhanced illumination and greater energy efficiency compared to the previous lighting technology.HMAO LED high masts use only 290-watts per fixture, and are rated to deliver up to 100,000 hours of maintenance-free operation. They feature multiple LED modules that reduce the potential for dark areas in the event an LED module fails. Through use of multiple LED drivers,Agent of floodlight masts offer the choice of various lumen packages, provide a back-up light source and overlapping distribution. Additionally, prismatic glass optics minimize the direct view of the light source for quality illumination.

“Our main goal is to provide a safe transportation system for the state of Maine,” said Ron Cote, MaineDOT Electrical Supervisor. “We were looking for a light source that would provide lower maintenance and a whiter light. The benefits of multiple LED drivers and modules and the longevity of Holophane HMAO LED fixtures are exactly what we wanted. Additionally, the quality of light combined with the payback of these fixtures is absolutely incredible. The state’s previous high-pressure sodium light fixtures were turned off each night from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. in order to reduce operating costs, which left roads and rest areas dark during that time period. In addition, the previous fixtures left bright spots and glare on the road due to uneven light distribution.

Electricity cost for each newly retrofitted light tower, operating from dusk to dawn each day, is only $66 per month, compared to $200 per month for each tower using the previous fixtures and operating a reduced number of hours. The reduction in energy cost allows Wholesale Led high bay light to leave the lights on throughout the night, providing a safer transit environment.Holophane was first to market with innovative, high mast lighting systems,” said Rob Drago, Acuity Brands Lighting Vice President, Infrastructure. “As an established leader in the industry, we continue to advance the technology, creating a best in class product that provides the features and benefits of a true high mast luminaire. This LED drop light generates less heat than incandescent work lights, has a 50,000 hour rated working life without being broken, and produces a much more white light comparing to the yellowish light produced by incandescent bulbs.

The LED application market is mostly based on LED backlight

Technology Corporation won the 2013 Best LED packaging Product award with their yaham series. When selecting a winner for this award, the committee focused on the creativity of technology and the efficiency of the product. Lite-On’s yaham series presented a luminous efficacy of 140lm/W and a 2700K color temperature, and its high voltage package feature allowed it to be applied to small Led flood light products and be arranged with smaller yet more efficient high voltage power drives. Due to these features, the yaham series was chosen among other competitive products.

The committee focused most on the creativity of technology, lighting efficiency, and market performance when selecting a winner for the LED Packaging Products with Best Luminous Efficacy award. This year APT Electronics won this award with their E-Star3535, a latest ceramic patch LED without gold wire bonding. Their products in 2012 could already present a luminous efficacy of 140lm/W, and such products also have other advantaged features including a narrow color distribution, good conductance, an 80% smaller size compared with general high power products, and a wider application and design range.

The LED application market is mostly based on LED backlight and LED lighting products, while other special applications and packaging led streetlight market segment products are developed in different markets. Small product size, however, is the common characteristic of these products and also the trend in the lighting market; with a smaller product size, manufacturers are able to reduce production cost (which is probably why these products are so popular). It is expected that in 2013H2, more similar high efficiency products will be developed and by then, products with over 160lm/W will dominate the market.
