For Delta Electronics, it is urgently building up inventory of its LED bulbs at Costco’s Shenzhen stores, where its bulbs are out of stock. Delta executives pointed out that the company would replenish five folds the number it sold out at Costco stores.Everlight and Nanya Photonics Inc. will add Carrefour stores to its contracted retailers in June, while Delta plans to sign up the 23 B&Q stores in Shenzhen to sell its light bulbs. The Tatung Group makes its Led high bay lighting available at its 243 stores islandwide.And Lite On’s chairman, Raymond Soong has announced to set up an operation center in Hubei Province of mainland China to tap the mainland’s thriving domestic market for optoelectronics products.The company’s optoelectronics products for the central region market will be LEDs, streetlights and lighting equipment in the initial stage.
So far, the group’s investment in the province is a transformer-manufacturing venture held by subsidiary LSE International Corp. Jiangxi Province is another location in the central region of the mainland that the group is operating outlets.According to Soong, the group opened an operation center in eastern region of the mainland in 2009 and its South China center, headquartered in Guangdong Province, will enter operation in the second half of 2012.They will display their latest products ranging from epitaxy wafer and sapphire to packages and lighting fixtures at over 200 booths. Around 60 buyers from 18 economies, including India, Turkey, Russia, South Africa and Singapore, will shop among them.
According to Photonics Industry and Technology Development Association (PIDA), it has enrolled around 10% more exhibitors than 2011 event. 61% of the buyers will come for LED lighting modules and lighting fixtures. In addition, a mainland Chinese trade delegation composed of around 100 Led flood light and enterprises is invited. Forums are also arranged with topics addressing LED horticulture lighting, OLED lighting technology, market development, and so on.PIDA estimates the global LED industry to generate revenue of around NT$200 billion this year, an increase of 10% from 2011.However, in response to Nichia, Everlight consistently takes intellectual property rights seriously and will strike back and take strong moves to protect the interests of its customers and shareholders.
