All these street lights have the average illuminance 28 lux, reaching the standard of city road illumination ME2. The installation of these lanterns can reduce power consumption by 60% and save energy by 2/3. Also dimming technique is applied to each led high bay light, enabling each lantern to reduce automatically power consumption to a reasonable level at night when there are few pedestrians and vehicles. Due to constant control by the electronic appliance, lamps and lanterns, drivers as well as the electronic appliance can operate continuously and steadily even under conditions of voltage and current below rated ones. Thus, the service life of the products will greatly extend.
LED lighting company Cree announced that the company has supplied the most energy-efficient LED downlights to Home Depot for sale online. The price for the lights, available under Home Depot's EcoSmart brand, is $49.95, and is targeted to be available in nearly 2,000 The Home Depot retail stores in fall 2010.
The EcoSmart LED Downlight was designed to exceed stringent ENERGY STAR® criteria and consumes just 10.5 watts, which is approximately 85-percent less energy than a comparable incandescent and 50-percent less energy than a fluorescent.
Created specifically for the residential market, the EcoSmart led high bay is designed to last at least 35,000 hours, or approximately 32 years with three hours of daily use, which is nearly four times longer than compact florescent (CFL) alternatives and up to 16 times longer when compared to incandescent options. Easily installed into most standard six-inch recessed housings for retrofits and new construction, the new downlight is dimmable to 5 percent, with off the shelf dimmers.
