plans to provide a proprietary packaging solution for these LED devices

Green or longer wavelength nitride based led high bay light are very challenging to fabricate compared to UV and Blue LEDs due to decreasing quantum efficiencies. Efficient long wavelength LEDs are essential milestones in the roadmap for Solid State Lighting (SSL), LED backlighting and next generation display technology.

Based on the breakthrough,RSL plans to package the Green and longer wavelength LEDs through its sister company, FlipChip International (FCI) which experiencing in packaging semiconductor power devices . And FCI plans to provide a proprietary packaging solution for these LED devices.

In additionb, RSL scientists have also demonstrated initial tunability of this technology to multi-color and white led linear high bay light spectrums. The company believes this technology can be commercialized in 2-3 years with migration to 200mm silicon substrates.

In addition, thanks to Kyocera's proprietary high-density packaging technologies, the company has succeeded in arranging LED chips on a high-density surface as opposed to in-line conventional products.
